The annual LIVE UNITED Awards recognize individuals and organizations in central Iowa who are making a huge impact, improving lives through their exceptional efforts of giving, advocating and volunteering for those in our community who need help.
The Hand-Raiser Awards recognize those who answer the call of duty, and are ready to pitch in wherever they’re needed. A Hand-Raiser organization creates a culture of excellence committed to their giveback efforts, with a vision of a better tomorrow.
In the span of three months, ITA Group team members logged nearly 2,400 hours of volunteer time and were able to create impact in all of United Way’s 5 Elements of a Thriving Community, including economic opportunity, education success, early childhood success, essential needs, and health and well-being.
Sean Vicente, United Way of Central Iowa board chair, said celebrating everyone who contributes to making Des Moines a thriving community is a “great experience.”
“Being together with the companies and organizations that bring this work to life is such an honor," he said. “It’s no secret we’ve experienced some tough times, but I know that with this community behind us, United Way is going to make great strides to improve Central Iowa.”
